RAFTING MARMORE+ TAGLIERE & SHOP at GALLI 1950
The ideal place for rafting in Umbria is located under the Marmore Falls, less than an hour's drive from Rome you can find the fantastic descent of the rapids on a rubber dinghy. Practicing Rafting even if you are a beginner, is truly a unique and adrenaline-pumping emotion. The ideal place to try this electrifying adventure in Umbria is located at the suggestive Cascata delle Marmore, a magical place of history and nature not far from Rome. Here the Nera River flows rapidly, bubbling on the rocks for almost three kilometers, forming fourth grade rapids, (the difficulty of rafting from 1 to 6), surrounded by lush vegetation, in an environment that will remind you of the atmosphere of the tropical forest.
Requirements for Rafting in Umbria
You do not need to have special skills to try your hand at this adventurous and exciting experience. As has happened to the thousands of visitors who over the past twenty years have wanted to experience the emotion and then become passionate about it! All you need is to know how to swim, to be in good health, aged between 18 and 55 and weighing less than 100 KG (the Management reserves the right to exclude from advanced sports activities those who do not demonstrate adequate psychophysical and motor aptitude) .
Description of the Rafting activity
Once you arrive at your destination at the reception of the Rafting center, you will be equipped with what you need and you will participate in a theoretical-practical lesson with our guides who will show you all the steps and the most important notions to know once you get on board the inflatable boats. The lesson lasts approximately one hour and includes a demonstration by the instructor. After you have worn the equipment provided by the Center, you will be ready to embark first on the shuttle bus that will take you up to the waterfall and then together with the reference guide, you will board the raft with your crew for the descent of the Nera River in full safety with the help of a guide ready to support you.
The descent into the river lasts approximately 40 minutes during which, as it will be announced during the lesson, the important thing is to stay firmly on board without falling into the water (which is why a good level of swimming is strongly recommended ). There are 6 places available on the dinghy, but you can also come alone. You will immediately begin to "paddle" with the support of the instructor in order to tackle all the points (even the steepest) that await you!
Rafting equipment
Once we have put on the neoprene wetsuit, the neoprene shoes, the water jacket provided by the organization and after having followed the theoretical and practical lesson that precedes the descent, we finish the dressing wearing the "life jacket" buoyancy aid and the helmet. , you can reach the boarding point located just below the Marmore Falls, the highest in Europe, in Umbria, almost at the end of the Valnerina, the long valley carved by the Nera river. An idyllic place surrounded by nature that will take you back in time.
On each dinghy there are six people, generally in their first experience, and the qualified guide of the F.I.Raft (Italian Rafting Federation) who gives the commands during the descent which lasts about an hour. The entire "Rafting" activity in Umbria, including the shower, lasts about two and a half to three hours.
